things have a funny way of working out.

the end of something bad can lead to the start of something good. we trade depression and tears for happiness and laughter. and needless to say, i'm excited for what's to come.

My heart ticks in beat with these kids that I grew up with.

My friends are some of the amazing people that you will ever meet, and I think a lot of times I take them for granted. They always have been there for, and they will always continue to be there for me. I feel like I'm not the best friend at times, trying to weigh decisions on what to do and I feel like a lot of them do not involve my close friends. I love each and one of them to death, and I would do absolutely anything for them, but like I said, I feel like I take that for granted. I propose to really work on becoming better at this, a better friend. To all of you reading this, you know who you are.

Disconnecting,

detaching, letting go, whatever you want to call it, is one of the hardest things that I've ever dealt with. Staying friends is what I want, but I never knew how much "just being friends" could hurt. When you're with someone for so long, the way you are around them gets settled in. And when you break up, all of that changes, sometimes instantly. We can never go back to the way we were (although I wish that we could, more than anything), because things never happen the same way twice. I never wanted this, but maybe it's for the best. I'm picking up the pieces. I'm trying to make sense of all of this. I'll get better, I just need time to heal.

Focus

I'm actually taking school seriously this semester. I've been getting all my assignments in, usually way before the deadline. I'm hoping that this could be an all A's semester. I'm taking initiative in other areas too. I have a job interview at Hollister this Saturday at 3:30pm. I'm praying that it goes well. I hope that I get the job; I could really use the money. I've put in so many applications already, if this doesn't work out then I suppose I'll just have to keep looking.

Cleaning

is what my morning has consisted of so far. I just finished my room, now onto my car. It feels good to see things neat and organized. It's not like my room was a complete disaster, but it still is nice to pick things up and put them away. My next task is cleaning out my car. Vacuuming, the whole nine yards. Time to get started!

Velvet Elvis

Today, I'm going up to Chicago to see the author of that book, Mr. Rob Bell. I'm headed up there with Ashlee, Ty, Evan, and Bryan. It's the Drop Like Stars tour. And I couldn't be more excited. I'm anxious to hear what he's going to talk about.

Locomotion

Today I went on a run around the subdivision. It felt good to be active again. As I expected, I'm fairly out of shape. I can still feel the ache in my legs as my body is trying to recover. I'm going to keep on this, exercising ever day. It feels good to be making progress. To be working towards something that will show results. To be working towards a healthier me.

created a new email account today

I felt that it was a good incentive to start blogging again, since I've been lacking. School starts next week. I have mixed feelings about it. It'll be nice to be back in school, working on finishing my Associate's Degree. It'll also keep me busy. I'm really going to focus on doing well this semester, living on my own kind of screwed me over last semester since it was a lot harder to keep up with my schoolwork. I'm currently working on my application to Bradley. I'm hope I get in, so far that's my plan for after ICC. I still have a year to decide, but it's good to get a head start on all this. Scholarships, loans, it's all rushing back to me. I really haven't had to think about it much until now, since I have only two semesters left here at Illinois Central. I'm going to start working out, as well as watching what I eat, and not eating out so much. Ashlee is going to help me create a budget I'm going to try my hardest to stick by. We're going to help each out with exercising and watching what food we eat. Oh, and I plan on starting a savings account so I can actually start saving some money. I've been applying for jobs like crazy the past two weeks, I'm really hoping to land a job SOMEWHERE by the end of the month. Hopefully, that'll happen. When I get some of my debt paid off, I'm going to get my next tattoo. "All I want is a little place of my own where I can rest my head." It's going on my left arm, upper and on the outside. My original plan was to have it inside my Illinois tattoo, but that didn't work out so well. Overall, It seems like I'm finally starting to take life seriously. Getting back into my school routine will help.
